Here's why Broadway is making me happy:
1) Kevin Spacey is coming to town in March for a production of Eugene O'Neill's "Moon for the Misbegotten", currently showing at the Old Vic in London. As some of you know, Spacey's been the artistic director of the Old Vic for several years. I think he mostly decided that Hollywood could go fuck itself, although I guess he'll kick down an appearance in a big film if someone he likes is directing. I will gladly sacrifice a huge part of my entertainment budget to get a good seat.
2) Raul Esparza is back in the revival of Sondheim's Company!! I am dying to see it as I heart him immensely. There is an outstanding article in this past Sunday's New York Times. I don't know how to link articles from their site as you might have to have a login id to access anything. But if you can, check it out.
3) Tony Danza is set to star in the Producers beginning December 19th. On Broadway. As Max. Bialystock. This makes me so happy I could cry. Now, if David Hasselhoff could join in as Roger DeBris, that would make my life complete. For those who do not know, Hasselhoff is currently in a Vegas production of the show in that role. Seeing him in a full length ballgown would alone be worth the price of admission.
